FAQs

What services do you provide?  We provide 24 hour care in a home environment. We are not a hospice – so each guest must be enrolled in a local hospice program.

Are there any restrictions to your care?  We only provide short-term end-of-life care – people in their final days and weeks of life. Generally speaking, that’s about 30 days or less. We do not provide skilled nursing care – so no IV’s injections, blood sugar management, feeding tubes, etc. Comfort care is our specialty.

How do I sign up my loved one?  We maintain a waiting list for our care. Anyone can make a referral to Clarehouse, but the person must be in that last month or so of life. Simply call 893-6150 and provide some basic information or have your hospice nurse call in the referral. That will start our evaluation process.

What does it cost to live at Clarehouse?  Clarehouse provides care free of charge and we completely support our services by donations from the community. We care for an average of 300 guests per year, and our cost per day per guest is about $187.
